The unforgettables

• Daiquiri
  Citrusy and sweet. Nicely complex and balanced with the commonly added fruit.
• Manhattan
  A popular variation is a **Rob Roy** which has Scotch instead of Bourbon. A controversial variation on that in turn is the **Blood and Sand**. It has no official recipe and is difficult to get right. It can be very good, like a blood orange twist on a Negroni as they both have Vermouth and orange.
• Whiskey sour
  Can be fantastic when sweet, but sometimes more on the sour side. It's like a lemonade but more interesting. The variation, Amaretto sour is amazing and like drinking almond perfume.

Contemporary classics

• Margarita
  Not for everyone because of the bitter Cointreau liqueur. But I liked it.
• Piña Colada
  Nice mix of coconut and pineapple in crushed ice. Usually very sweet.
